Alyssa Hope, a USC-bound senior at Martin Luther King in California, led all qualifiers in the girls long jump with a 20-4.25 (6.20m) performance in the second round of the prelims at the CIF State Championships at Buchanan High's Veterans Memorial Stadium in Clovis. Hope, the reigning state triple jump champion, finished second in the long jump final last season.
